Meet your coach

Aloha, my name is Alan.

I am more than just a champion bodybuilder with titles like the 1984 Hawaii International Winner and 1989 Mr. America. I began my journey in the world of bodybuilding at the young age of 19, and today, I use my expertise and knowledge to be more impactful than ever.

Armed with rich experience, leadership skills, and a love for the community, I wear many hats: a mentor for aspiring athletes, a renowned coach, a sought-after personal trainer, a vocal youth advocate, a successful events promoter, and an entrepreneur.

My training has helped drive business success in the United States and beyond, including Japan. Between 1989-1994, my association notably led to the success of Hawaii’s first Gold’s Gym, which evolved into the present-day 24 Hour Fitness gym. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit,  I pivoted, adopting a professional trainer gym model for independent personal trainers, and opened the thriving Ikaika Fitness Factory.

My dedication to the bodybuilding community is evident in three nationally sanctioned events: The Maui Classic, The Armed Forces Bodybuilding Championship, and the Ikaika Classic.

Furthermore, my commitment to youth development is reflected in Ikaika Athletics – a program that pairs student-athletes with reputable coaches and mentors.
